- Réalt Beag Child and Family Learning Centre
Aim:- To provide high quality affordable childcare and family support which is critical to our target groups ability to engage in rehabilitation programmes.
Philosophy:-To work to a child centred approach of learning at its earliest stage which will include bringing in the voice of a child. We also work from a set of Value Base objectives. - Aspects to our work:-
There are two aspects to our work
(1) Early Learning Centre.
(2) Work With Family Members
1. Early Learning Centre:-
Children:- 25 children on a full time base and approximately 4 children who use drop in
- -We work from a Value Base (things we believe)
- -We provide a High Quality Childcare Service
- -Our Ratio of staff to Children is higher than the average
- -Smaller Group Sizes
- -We use evidence based curriculums and Programmes e.g. Highscope
- -Each child has their own Key Worker and we have a care team meeting weekly to discuss children's progress.
- 2. Family Support/Involvement:
-We make links with parents/carers on a daily basis to exchange information about the children - -We support parents when filling in assesment forms or if refferrals has been made to Social Services
- -We attend meetings with parents
- -If family members approach us in relation to issues that are going on for them we refer both internally and externally
